About Chris Duhon's Stand Tall Foundation
In August 2005, Chris Duhon established the Chris Duhon chapter of the Stand Tall Foundation to aid his hometown of Slidell Louisiana, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The Stand Tall Foundation has provided assistance to several local schools and churches and the Boys & Girls Club of Slidell as well as developing programs to assist the community such as the "Operation 21" project, which refurbishes outside basketball courts in areas that otherwise would not be able to. Chris teamed up with Leadership Northshore to install new and improved playground equipment in several Slidell area parks. Duhon and his foundation have also partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation to aid in the construction of new homes in Slidell. Duhon's philanthropic activities were recognized in 2006 when he was the recipient of The Sporting News' Good Guy Award. The Chris Duhon's Stand Tall Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to building up children who are the foundation of our communities. The foundation is incorporated in Illinois and Connecticut, but is run by its office located in North Carolina.
